My Last Talk

A last wish

Something you still hope for, or a request for someone you love

My Last Talk

My last wish

My wish is not a monument. I want the people I leave to be kind to each other. Look up from the table. If someone is ill, do not leave them in another room. If someone does well, say so before the week ends. That is the wish I could not finish by living it.

My Last Talk

Be loved after me

You are allowed to be loved after I am gone. Please do not treat that love as a betrayal. I never owned your days. Buy a coat in a color I did not prefer. Go outside when the season changes. That is my wish wearing your name.

My Last Talk

What I hope remains

I would rather leave a manner than money. Lower your voice when someone is wrong. Pass the dish toward the tired person. I did not always do it. So I write it as a wish and a will. If you keep a tenderness I missed, my life was not wasted.

My Last Talk

Do not repair me

You are not my second chance. You do not have to walk the road I missed in order to comfort me. My wish is that you grow at your speed. Being lazy on a Sunday is allowed. Health, and a little softness. That is almost the whole request.
